A new BuzzFeed report says a big chunk of the online backlash around Chappell Roan may have been artificially amplified by bots. After a widely shared story involving Brazilian soccer star Jorginho and his daughter, Chappell denied any involvement by her security team, and the guard later backed that up \u2014 but the conversation spiraled into intense criticism, boycotts, and misinformation.\n\nBuzzFeed says its review of more than 100,000 posts across seven platforms found that about 4.2% of the accounts involved were likely bots, but those accounts were responsible for more than 23% of the posts. The report suggests the drama was a mix of real fan debate and coordinated amplification, making the blowback look far more explosive than it may have been organically.
