Ephesians 5:11
Have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness…

Modern society demands tolerance of all but the most abhorrent of behaviors. For now that seems only to include rape, murder, child molesting…

Yet when the Christian attempts to live out their faith in the light of this verse. The Christian is called judgmental, or worse bigoted. This has lead most Christians into becoming docile and mute to the unfruitful works of darkness. In contrast to what this specific verse commands. Which is to reprove such works.
So what does reprove mean?
Glad you asked!
Reprove ; TO SCOLD, OR CORRECT, USUALLY GENTLY OR WITH KINDLY INTENT…
Social pressures coupled with the unrepentant sin of the modern Christian has kept Christians mute on sin.
It is with the compassion of Christ, compelled by love. That the Christian is commanded to reprove unfruitful works. Not taking a “holier than thou” stance. Rather in humility and gratitude, reflecting and promoting Gods unique Holiness. Knowing that the wages of sin is death. And God WANTS better for us all.
