The theme that both \u201cfilms\u201d share is that the main character is tired and bored of the monatomy of comformist life. In turn, the main character acts out with violence against their peers to obtain any modicum of satisfaction with their dull life. In the end, the mc gives up their sanity and morals so they can be an individual and stand out against the mainstream.
